Dre’s Formula 1 2013 Season Review

“Guys, Sebastian Vettel’s kinda good at this whole, racing thing.”

Hey guys, Dre here, and don’t worry casual F1 fans, the season’s over, you can come out now! Here’s my take on some of the major points over the course of this 2013 Formula 1 season. To be honest, not the most stimulating across the board, but there’s PLENTY of things worth talking about here, so let’s break it down, shall we?

– 2013: The Season known for the off-track action, rather than the on

“The FIA…Never too far away from a storm.”

Politicking and Formula 1 are never too far away from one another from too long, and 2013 was their family reunion. Only this time Uncle Politics has been through a rough divorce and came back extra grouchy. It’s not the best analogy, but it’s all I’ve got right now.

Formula 1: Sauber’s Woes and Hulkenberg’s Dilemma / An Open Letter To Lewis Hamilton

“The rise and fall of Sauber and me dropping some bombs on Lewis Hamilton.”

Two topics in one F1 blog, because I feel like being generous. First up, the revelation over Nico Hulkenberg’s terminated contract at Sauber over financial issues, and an open letter to Lewis Hamilton after his recent comments to the media post-German GP, and why he’s slowly ruining his image and reputation. Hope you enjoy it.

Dre’s 2013 Canadian Grand Prix Race Review

“A weekend of incredible highs, and lows.”

Hey folks, Dre here, and I’m back to talk about yesterday’s Canadian Grand Prix from the Circuit Gilles Villenuve in Montreal. It was a race where Sebastian Vettel would find redemption for his horrible error in 2011 that cost him a win, as well as a race where Lewis Hamilton showed some real grit, Jean Eric-Vergne did great in the other Red Bull team, Paul Di Resta was outstanding, and the continuing downfall of McLaren..

…As well as a tragedy to close out an otherwise, fantastic weekend.

– Lest we forget the dangers that this sport will always have

“Esteban’s crash…Little did we know what it would cause.”

The Formula 1 2013 Season So Far – What Have We Learned?

“Admit it, you missed me talking F1 right?”

Would you believe we’re already a third of the way through this Formula 1 Season? Time flies doesn’t it? Next week is Round 7, the Canadian Grand Prix (My favorite by the way), and we’ve already seen so much in terms of action, technical mayhem, drama and generic carnage, that I thought that now would be a good time to talk about just how crazy this season has been so far, and break down some of the key moments. From Team Orders, to Jenson Button losing his cool over his new Mexican friend, is there a chink in the Ferrari armor? And of course, Pirelli. Let’s break it down…Harrison style!

Malaysia GP 2013 Thoughts: Hamilton says Hi to McLaren, Vettel, Webber and “Multi 21”

My thoughts on today’s Malaysian Grand Prix. If you like what you saw here, let me know, can definitely make this a running series! (Dre)

– Wasn’t it hilarious when Lewis Hamilton drove past and nearly stopped in his old McLaren pitbox?!I mean seriously, he clearly missed those guys, especially after realizing that the current Mercedes product has pretty much left him in the exact kind of grid position as he was with McLaren…Staring up the backside of at least one of the two Red Bull’s. Nah, but in all seriousness, I’m glad he laughed it off and found it as funny as I did, even if he was a part of the most awkward podium since Monza 2001. (Shouldn’t have to be a rocket scientist to work out why…Hint: Look at a calendar)

The Annoyance and Arguments Of Being A Sebastian Vettel Fan

Did you ever watch Recess as a child? I know I did, it was one of my favourite shows when I was growing up. One episode I clearly remember, was this one kid who had been to 27 different schools. And he was a super-kid, and did everything that the other characters did in the show, only better. And it got to the point that the rest of the kids were so irritated that they completely shut him out. Basically, the kid was misunderstood, and he explained that he went so many schools because he was so gifted, everyone was either jealous or annoyed at him and pretty much drove him out. The other school kids than got a greater understanding and embraced him.
